This two-year English-medium Master’s programme deals with medical anthropology in combination with South Asian studies. It is integrated with the South Asia Institute, allowing students to combine South Asian languages, geography, politics, etc. in their studies. Medical anthropology is the comparative study of health, illness, healing practices and medical systems in the context of culture. The program is directed at two prospective groups: (1) students planning to work in medical development assistance, or who have gained professional experience there, and (2) students aspiring to an academic career in ethnology or a neighbouring discipline. We encourage international students to apply.
